“Builders of Tomorrow”: classroom training and on-site experience
06 November 2025The classroom phase of “Builders of Tomorrow”, the training project launched by Itinera in collaboration with Randstad Italia, has successfully come to an end.
The initiative, aimed at young graduates from technical and vocational schools across Italy, is designed to train new professionals for the role of site assistant, addressing the growing demand for qualified technical profiles in the construction sector.
Following an initial selection process involving 28 schools and around 600 applicants, 12 young participants were chosen to take part in three weeks of intensive training held at the Building School of Alessandria.
The programme – a total of 120 hours, funded by Forma.Temp – combined theoretical lessons and practical workshops covering key topics such as health and safety at work, workers’ rights and responsibilities, and technical skills specific to the site assistant role.
Participants also had the opportunity to visit the A33 Asti–Cuneo motorway construction site, one of Itinera’s major ongoing infrastructure projects, to gain first-hand insight into the operations and expertise involved in delivering a large-scale project.
Starting this week, the 12 selected trainees have joined Itinera’s construction sites across Italy, where they will spend the next 11 months working alongside experienced engineers and site managers, continuing their learning directly on site.
Nurturing young talent, promoting youth employment, and strengthening the connection between school, business, and local communities – these are the pillars on which Itinera builds the future of the construction sector.
