Ponte dei Congressi: new strategic infrastructure for Rome
25 March 2026Consorzio Stabile Eteria – of which Itinera is a member – has been awarded the contract for the construction of the Ponte dei Congressi in Rome, a strategic project aimed at improving mobility in the south-west quadrant of the city. The tender was issued by Anas, and the project has been entrusted to Eteria’s shareholders Vianini Lavori, Itinera and ICOP, in a joint venture with Cimolai.
The project includes the construction of a 259-metre-long arch bridge connecting the EUR district with Via della Magliana, helping to ease congestion in one of the Capital’s most critical transport hubs, in connection with the Rome–Fiumicino motorway.
The intervention stands out for its technical complexity and its integration of new infrastructure with urban and environmental regeneration. In addition to the main bridge, the works include 16 viaducts, 2 tunnels and 3 underpasses, as well as the upgrade of the Ponte della Magliana, which will be reconfigured into a four-lane roadway.
The project also features significant improvements to the Tiber river system, including the creation of new green areas and a 1.4 km cycle-pedestrian loop linking both riverbanks, enhancing accessibility and usability of urban spaces.
This project represents a key step toward more efficient urban mobility and the enhancement of a strategic area of the city, delivering tangible benefits for both residents and commuters.
