Description

The ETERIA Consortium, of which ITINERA is a member, has been awarded the contract for the construction of the new Campus of the Politecnico di Milano, a project that combines architectural innovation and energy sustainability, representing a development of significant architectural and environmental value, designed to integrate innovation, functionality, and energy efficiency. The complex is organized into a system of modular and symmetrical buildings, unified by a large photovoltaic roof which, in addition to ensuring the production of renewable energy for the entire campus, serves as a distinctive architectural and visual element. Characterized by 45° inclined shed structures, the roof extends over the buildings and connecting spaces, evoking the industrial heritage of the area while providing a strong sense of unity to the masterplan. The project includes the construction of five main structures (L4.1 and L4.2), integrated with the refurbishment of the historic Scuole Civiche building, developed over four above-ground levels and two underground levels. The intervention also includes the creation of new functional and service spaces, including a food court located along the main axis of the campus. The project area covers a total surface of approximately 3,753 sqm, including landscaped outdoor spaces such as a new tree-lined courtyard, conceived as an open and flexible space for the university community.
