Description
The project, commissioned by ANAS and awarded to the Consorzio Eteria – of which Itinera is a member – in joint venture with Cimolai involves the upgrading of the Corigliano Ovest–Sibari section of the State Road 106 “Jonica”, a strategic intervention aimed at enhancing mobility in Calabria and along the Ionian corridor. The works form part of the broader programme to upgrade the SS106, a key route connecting Taranto to Reggio Calabria, and include the improvement of approximately 16 km of infrastructure. The project stands out for the scale of the planned works, including 15 viaducts, 2 overpasses and crossing structures up to 760 metres in length, as well as the construction of a new link road at the Corigliano Ovest interchange to improve connections with the urban area, the existing road network and the port. The intervention also includes detailed design activities and environmental, geotechnical and structural monitoring, contributing to the development and modernisation of Southern Italy’s infrastructure network.
