Description

The ETERIA Consortium, of which ITINERA is a member, has been awarded the contract for the construction of the new passenger terminal at Venice Marco Polo International Airport. The project involves the construction of a main building with a regular layout, featuring an average height of 19.2 metres and developed over four above-ground levels and one underground level. The scope also includes three boarding piers with connected concourses on two levels, equipped with stairs and lifts to ensure high operational flexibility. Particular attention has been given to the architectural design, ensuring continuity with the existing terminal. Key features include the use of a mixed steel-concrete structure, enabling large spans and a reduced number of vertical elements, as well as a lightweight glazed façade designed to enhance visual connections with the Venice Lagoon. The project will contribute to increasing airport capacity and improving passenger flow management, supporting the growth of international traffic and generating positive impacts on the surrounding area.
