Skurubron Bridge: a year with zero accidents!

Skurubron Bridge: a year with zero accidents!

Itinera pays the utmost attention to safety on site, which is why the total absence of accidents for a whole year in the workplace of the Nya Skurubron bridge project in Nacka (Stockholm)- Sweden is to be celebrated!

People of over ten different nationalities work on the site every day. This condition, in itself a precious source of inclusion and diverse experiences, represents an element that must be considered with particular attention when communicating and in the development of the safety culture. Thanks to the commitment of employees and management who together work with the aim of ensuring maximum safety conditions, it was possible to achieve the “zero accidents” goal in one year.

The celebrations took place on 20 September, in correspondence with the final launch of the last section of the bridge and on the day of “Håll Nollan”, a Swedish celebration in which the construction sector celebrates cooperation as a fundamental factor to avoid accidents in work sites.

Nya Skurubron is a contract that Itinera is executing on behalf of Trafikverket (the Swedish Transport Administration), which involves the construction of a new bridge over the Skuru Sound in Nacka, just south of the existing bridge. The project therefore includes the construction of a new bridge, the reconstruction of the Skuru and Björknäs intersections, as well as the renovation and transformation of the existing bridge into a pedestrian and cycle path.
