Itinera, ASTM Group’s major infrastructure contractor, has won (with a 45,3 share) the contract for the construction of the 20 km section of the railway line Telese-San Lorenzo Maggiore-Vitulano (province of Benevento) in joint venture with the company Ghella (leader of the joint venture with a 47,15% share) and the companies Salcef and Coget Impianti.

The tender, promoted by RFI (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana – Italian Railway Network) as part of Naples-Bari High Speed train line, is worth approximately 470 million euros.

The doubling of the section, consisting of two functional lots, Telese-San Lorenzo Maggiore e San Lorenzo Maggiore-Vitulano, will allow an increase of the safety standards and the removal of all railway crossing currently in operation on the network.

With this new award Itinera confirms to be one of the leading companies in the modernization process of the railway line Naples-Bari in compliance with the high speed standards: as a matter of fact, the company is already engaged, in joint venture with other companies, in the expansion and modernization works of the high speed railway sections between Cancello and Frasso Telesino with a length of 19,3 km and a value of about € 311 million and between Frasso Telesino and Telese with a length of 11 km and a value of about € 242 million.
