Contract awarded for upgrading the italian railway line Orte-Falconara

The Eteria Consortium, of which Itinera is a member, will carry out track-doubling works on the PM228 – Albacina railway section, an integral part of the Orte-Falconara line.

The project, worth more than 95 million euros also financed with Pnrr funds, consists of the creation of a new track parallel to the existing one, which will extend for about 4 km between the Movement Post at km 228 and the Albacina station. This initiative, in addition to doubling between Fabriano and Albacina, includes the removal of a level crossing, replaced by a modern underpass, and improves the accessibility and safety of Albacina station.

When completed, the work will allow for a reduction in travel time between Rome and Ancona, an increase in the number of trains that can run on the route, and greater accessibility to rail service.
