Works in progress of the base Tunnel Turin-Lyon, Lot 3

TELT (Tunnel Euralpin Lyon Turin) project goes on, a new railway line for freights and passengers that will connect Turin and Lyon becoming a fundamental section of the Mediterranean Corridor.

Works in progress on site CO08 (earthworks, jet grouting, retaining walls) for the construction of the railway tunnel Lot 3, total length about 3 km, section between Saint-Julien-Montdenis and Saint-Martin-la-Porte. Awarded in 2021 to the JV IMPLENIA (Leader), ITINERA, NGE and RIZZANI DE ECCHER, lot 3 will take about 70 working months.

The twin bored tunnel will have a total length of about 5678 m and will be excavated with traditional method, also includes no. 11 security corridors and 600,000 cubic meters of earthworks.

The construction site is eco-sustainable with the aim of reducing environmental losses and improving energy savings, responding to the sustainability targets of the whole project. TELT will actually allow trains to travel through the Alps at the flat land level, significantly facilitating the transition from road to rail transportation, with remarkable environmental and economic savings.
